El Guapo's SWGOH Guide to Guild Challenges
El Guapo, has written a VERY detailed guide, on our LordSkunk.com Community Subreddit, for each day of the Guild Daily challenges. Most importantly, he goes over strategies that may very well allow those that are f2p and low p2p to reach the 7th tier of these challenges. So if you have been worried about being in a guild because you are f2p then El Guapo may put your troubles to bed and if you are interested in joining a LordSkunk.com Community Guild simply visit TeamSkunk.com.
Here is his post:
A guide to pulling your weight in Guild Challenges if you are on a budget
When I first looked at the guild tier daily challenges I thought, “Man, you’d have to spend hundreds of bucks each month to do this!” But as I started doing the napkin math, I realized that with a little planning, some discipline, and a daily crystal boost per month, you can pull your weight on any day to get Tier 7 rewards.
You get 77 crystals per day from your dailies and completing GW. If you are in the top 100, you get another 100 crystals per day. You get 200 crystals total for the monthly log in. If you buy the $10.99 crystal booster pack and keep it fresh, you should average around 287 or so crystals per day in a 30 day month. Finish a bracket or two higher in arena each day or maybe buy an extra $5 bag of crystals and you are golden.
Below I am going to break down each days challenges and how you can get the amount of points to do your part as one of the 50 people in your guild. I will give you a maximum amount of battles you can do the number it will take to pull your weight and the amount you have to spare (in case you don’t want to wake up at 1 in the morning and start hitting sim). Special note, no matter what, you need to always do your daily quests. These give you valuable xp, crystals, and other goodies.
Let’s go in order for the days of the week:
Sunday This is the Cantina challenge. To get Tier 7 rewards, your guild needs to complete 3,060 Cantina Battles. That comes out to 61.2 battles per person. Here’s how you do it. Start the night before. You want your cantina energy to be at full. Then do your 100 and 200 crystal refresh. Cantina energy refills pretty slowly only 120 per day, so you’re not going to be able to do any Cantina battles a full 24 hours before you refresh. If you can keep your finger off the trigger, you will start the next day with your max, plus the refreshes (370 or so cantina energy). If you were to use that energy as soon as the day resets and use your 100 and 200 crystal refreshes, you would get another 360 cantina energy. So, if you are 100% optimal and stretch it all the way to the end, your cantina energy is going to be 730 energy (give or take a couple depending on your level cap).
The Absolute maximum amount of battles at the 8 energy node that you can do is 91.25. You need to do 61.2 to pull your weight, so you have approximately 30 battles or 240 cantina energy you can use to farm higher level loads, do only one refresh, and maybe get some sleep.
Monday Light Side Battles. To get the Tier 7 reward, your guild needs to complete 9,900 Light Side Battles. That’s 198 per person. Much like the Cantina energy, this one starts the day before. For the maximum amount of energy you can have, you need to have capped your energy (130 or so) before the noon free energy. Get that one and the two later on. Do the 50/50/100/100 refresh and this will end your day with 745 energy. This energy generates twice as fast as cantina energy, so if you were to hit sim immediately after the restart, do your 50/50/100 refresh, and claim all 3 of your free energy dailies. You will have another 855 energy total for that day. So if you do everything perfect, you’re going to have ,1600 energy to spend. The absolute maximum amount of 6 energy battles that you can do will be 266. The average for your team needs is 91.25 so you’ll have about 280 energy to use for higher energy nodes, hard node battles, dark side battles, sleep, or save a refresh.
Tuesday Galactic War. This one’s easy. No gems required here. The guild needs 590 Galactic War nodes total. That’s 11.8 per person. You can get 12.
Wednesday Complete 2230 Hard Mode Battles. For your guild to make it, you need to finish 44.6 hard mode battles each. Using the same crystal count and energy numbers from above, if you max it out, you can finish 133 battles. So you’ll have about 1068 energy left. Obviously, there’s a lot of wiggle room on this one. You can farm higher energy hard nodes, not save from the day before, not do several refreshes and save gems, etc.
Thursday A challenging Endeavor. It takes 530 Daily Challenge completions for to get Tier 7 gear on this one. That’s 10.6 per person. You can only do 8. So to complete this, they are going to either: A). Allow you to refresh the challenge with gems. B). Open up additional challenges on this day. C.) Count Events (Like Omega, Profit Mining, etc.) as challenges. I’m guessing it will be A, which won’t be that bad because Thursday is the STR challenge with the purple blow dryer drops. I’m hoping for this, but they might punish us by making us do the profit mining one.
Friday The power of the Dark Side. Exactly the same as the light side… but darker.
Saturday Your guild needs 500 pvp attempts. That’s attempts, not wins so that comes out to 10 per person. You get 5 for free. One 50 gem refresh gives you 5 more. There’s your 10. And, if your 50 gems gets you into a higher bracket, the extra gems you get as a reward will wash out the 50 you spent.
So there you have it. I thought it was going to be expensive, but now that I’ve put the figures to it, it is definetly do able on a dolphin budget. Free to play should be able to hit it on the GW and PVP days and possibly the challenge days as well. If they are disciplined, keep decent rank in arena, and are on top of the resets, free to play is feasible. But don’t do the bare minimum if you can help it! Someone might have a slacker, somebody over slept, didn’t do math, or had a genuine emergency.
We’ve answered the question of “can you do it?” with a resounding Yes!, but the real question is: Should you? I believe the rewards are going to be worth it. Breaking your normal routine and getting off track on your gear/shard farming would be more than made up for if you get more points towards rare shards, gear pieces, and even full pieces of crafted gear. One of those alone could be worth days of node farming. Please feel free to double check and correct my math. Later all!

TY so much for all this detailed info... that was really awsome ;)
ReplyDeletethanks for the analysis. am glad to know it but less excited by guilds as a result.
ReplyDeleteone comment/correction:
"Cantina energy refills pretty slowly only 120 per day, so you’re not going to be able to do any Cantina battles a full 24 hours before you refresh."
--> if you do this, you won't complete the previous day's dailies.
You can save enough from 2 days prior to do just the dailies 1 day prior.
Delete"Tuesday Galactic War. This one’s easy. No gems required here. The guild needs 590 Galactic War nodes total. That’s 11.8 per person. You can get 12."
ReplyDeleteEven easier (or add a reserve) don't finish Mondays GW on Monday (progress can still advance until you click refresh) save the last couple of Mondays GW battles for tuesday and you have the reserve against someone who wasn't able to pull their weight that week.
Good point, I wait until just before midnight and reset, complete one node and wait till after midnight, this one is good for players that can't quite squeak all ten nodes, anyway go hard as far as you can, then reset if you've done it right that's 19nodes in total.

DeleteYou can actually do a maximum of 36 GW nodes using this technique. (Refresh on Monday leaving 12 nodes available; start Tuesday after guild restart, complete Monday's 12 and Tuesday's 12, then refresh on Wednesday and finish those 12.) I end up doing 35 per challenge (I tag one of Monday's nodes so I can get my Dailies).
DeleteGreat breakdown on the individual needs of a guild-member to do their part towards tier 7 daily completion!
ReplyDeleteIf I am reading all of the guild stuff correctly, I'm going to have to pay extra attention to the countdown timers. Why? Because the guild's daily challenge reset time might be off from when my player day resets. Say for example I'm in US Eastern time zone but my guild leader was in US Central time zone. Since the guild leader is 1 hour different from me and the guild's day resets on the guild leader's time zone, I would have to wait an additional hour after my personal daily reset before the guild challenges would reset for the day.
