El Guapo's SWGOH Guide to Guild Challenges *UPDATED*

El Guapo, has written a VERY detailed guide, on our LordSkunk.com Community Subreddit, for each day of the Guild Daily challenges. Most importantly, he goes over strategies that may very well allow those that are f2p and low p2p to reach the 7th tier of these challenges. So if you have been worried about being in a guild because you are f2p then El Guapo may put your troubles to bed and if you are interested in joining a LordSkunk.com Community Guild simply visit TeamSkunk.com.

Here is his post:

A guide to pulling your weight in Guild Challenges if you are on a budget

UPDATED Since I wrote the first guide, it the light side/dark side/hard mode and cantina challenges have changed from number of battles to energy

*There are several good guides out there on how to spend/save and when. Most of it is going to determine on when your guild challenge ends in relation to your day resetting.

When I first looked at the guild tier daily challenges I thought, “Man, you’d have to spend hundreds of bucks each month to do this!” But as I started doing the napkin math, I realized that with a little planning, some discipline, and a daily crystal boost per month, you can pull your weight on any day to get Tier 7 rewards. You get 77 crystals per day from your dailies and completing GW. If you are in the top 100, you get another 100 crystals per day. You get 200 crystals total for the monthly log in. If you buy the $10.99 crystal booster pack and keep it fresh, you should average around 287 or so crystals per day in a 30 day month. Finish a bracket or two higher in arena each day or maybe buy an extra $5 bag of crystals and you are golden.

Below I am going to break down each days challenges and how you can get the amount of points to do your part as one of the 50 people in your guild. I will give you a maximum amount of battles you can do the number it will take. Special note, no matter what, you need to always do your daily quests. These give you valuable xp, crystals, and other goodies.

Let’s go in order for the days of the week:

Sunday This is the Cantina challenge. To get Tier 7 rewards, your guild needs to spend 24,000 in Cantina Battles. That comes out to 480 energy spent per person. Here’s how you do it. Make sure you start this challenge with your max cantina energy saved up. This should put you around 130 or so according to your level. Then do your 100 and 200 crystal refresh. This is going to put you at 370 Cantina energy already! Now start spending. Cantina energy refills pretty slowly only 120 per day. So if you have a full 24 hours before your payout and are able to expend every drop of your cantina energy, just before payout, Congrats! you have pulled your weight! If your day resets before your guild challenge time expires, then you can do another 100 gem refresh for some extra or you can save the 200 gem refresh from the day before and just use the 100. This will cut it close, but I believe 200 gems spent is going to be the bare minimum you can use if you want to get what you need.

Monday Light Side Battles. To get the Tier 7 reward, your guild needs to spend 70,000 energy on Light Side Battles. That’s 1400 per person. Much like the Cantina energy, this one starts earlier in the day. For the maximum amount of energy you can have, you need to have capped your energy (130 or so) before the guild challenge starts. After it starts, do the 50/50/100/100 refresh and this will give you 610 energy . This energy generates twice as fast as cantina energy, so 24 hours from the time you get down below your max, you would have generated another 240 energy. Now you are up to 850 energy. Your day should reset and you can do the 50/50/100/100 that gives you another 610 energy. So all total, you should have had 1460 energy to spend. Also, you will get the free energy along the way giving you another 90 to 135 energy.

Tuesday Galactic War. This one’s easy. No gems required here. The guild needs 590 Galactic War nodes total. That’s 11.8 per person. You can get 12 if you do it straight up. 24 if your reset is saved. And 36 if your timing falls right.

Wednesday Hard Mode Battles. This is EXACTLY the same strategy as the Light Side and Dark Side Battles.

Thursday A challenging Endeavor. Your guild needs to complete 375 of these which makes it 7.5 per person. You can do 8 if you play it straight up. 16 if you the timing co-operates.

Friday The power of the Dark Side. Exactly the same as the light side… but darker.

Saturday Your guild needs 500 pvp attempts. That’s attempts, not wins so that comes out to 10 per person. You get 5 for free. One 50 gem refresh gives you 5 more. There’s your 10. And, if your 50 gems gets you into a higher bracket, the extra gems you get as a reward will wash out the 50 you spent.

So there you have it. I thought it was going to be expensive, but now that I’ve put the figures to it, it is do able on a dolphin budget. Free to play should be able to hit it on the GW and PVP days and possibly the challenge days as well. If they are disciplined, keep decent rank in arena, and are on top of the resets, free to play is feasible. But don’t do the bare minimum if you can help it! Someone might have a slacker, somebody over slept, didn’t do math, or had a genuine emergency.

We’ve answered the question of “can you do it?” with a resounding Yes!, but the real question is: Should you? I believe the rewards are going to be worth it. Breaking your normal routine and getting off track on your gear/shard farming would be more than made up for if you get more points towards rare shards, gear pieces, and even full pieces of crafted gear. One of those alone could be worth days of node farming. Please feel free to double check and correct my math. Later all!
